Zusammenfassung

Das Interesse an Erkrankungen der Prostata hat in den letzten beiden Jahrzehnten stark zugenommen. Die Verbesserung der bildgebenden Verfahren und, Hand in Hand damit, die Verfeinerung der Biopsietechnik trugen dazu bei. Gegenwärtig sieht es so aus, als habe die „Spring-gun-Biopsie“, mit der es gelingt, ohne wesentliche Beeinträchtigung des Patienten in der gleichen Sitzung mehrere Biopsiezylinder zu gewinnen, die Feinnadelaspiration verdrängt [57]. Doch erlauben die neuen Techniken auch eine Gewinnung zytologischen Untersuchungsmaterials, das maximal innerhalb von ein bis zwei Stunden diagnostisch ausgewertet werden kann. Bei der gegenwärtigen Tendenz, die medizinischen Abklärungsuntersuchungen immer mehr zu beschleunigen, ist es nicht ausgeschlossen, dass die zytologische Untersuchung von Prostataaspiraten wieder an Boden gewinnt. In der Metastasendiagnostik wird die Zytologie weiter ihren Platz behalten [5, 72, 105]. Daher ist es nach wie vor wichtig, die Zytologie des Prostatakarzinoms zu kennen.
