Abstract
In this chapter we examine in detail trans-maxillary approaches. They are primarily used for the resection of nasal malignancies. At the completion of the planned resection any involvement of the skull can be locally further resected and repaired, however if the extension appears unresectable it should be marked with Ligaclips to facilitate accurate postoperative irradiation. We also illustrate the raising of the septal mucosal flap as the wide exposure renders it easier to illustrate than in Chap. 6. The septal mucosal flap is more frequently used with the approaches described in Chap. 6.
