Fabrigar was born on October 14, 1965, in Arcola, Saskatchewan, Canada. He earned his A.A. in 1986 from the University of Maryland branch campus in Munich, West Germany. He earned his B.A. in 1988 from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. In 1991, he completed his M.A. from The Ohio State University under the supervision of Jon A. Krosnick. He earned his Ph.D. in 1995 from The Ohio State University under the supervision of Richard E. Petty.
