The Role of Epiglottis in Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Abstract

Mandibular advancement devices (MAD) are often used to treat obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Their efficacy depends on numerous factors including the site of upper airway collapse. Epiglottis collapse is an endoscopic finding that may require specific treatment strategies. This chapter explores the mechanism of action and outcome of MAD therapy in patients with epiglottis collapse.
