Abstract
Effective training provides a solid foundation for accessing patient information and documentation of patient care. Medical errors can be directly attributed to a lack of training to use technology. In addition, a lack of confidence and extra work effort are often the results of inadequate or rushed health information technology training. To create a successful training program, training professionals must take into consideration different learning needs as well as acknowledge previous knowledge and experience. By investing time upfront, training professionals can develop the right formula that works for the training team and the organization.
