Planetary Health in Brazil

Abstract

We are witnessing an unprecedented social, political and environmental crisis, with intense deforestation, extensive fires and biomass burning, altering the biomes of the planet. To this end, this chapter presents a structured literature review and an analysis of this bibliometric network to identify thematic clusters that point out the relationships between health education and planetary health. The results presented here show that achieving good planetary health is a transdisciplinary issue and it depends on human behavior and, consequently, education for sustainability. A limitation of this study is believed to be a lack of quantitative studies available to help us to understand the dimension of the impacts of the environment on the health and well-being of people and human activities on the health of the planet.
