Abstract

The ever-changing field of medicine and healthcare has witnessed accentuated changes in the last decade, not only in the areas of scientific and clinical knowledge, in the understanding of diseases or the development of new drugs and therapeutic interventions, but also in the physician–patient relationship, the management of healthcare systems and the general approach to health, welfare and disease management.
