Abstract
Appreciative Inquiry (AI) is a qualitative research method that was first introduced in 1987 by David Cooperrider and Suresh Srivastva at Case Western Reserve University. They described AI as a complement to conventional forms of action research that is intended for discovery, understanding and fostering innovation in social-organizational arrangements (Cooperrider and Srivastva, Woodman and Pasmore (eds), Research in Organizational Change And Development, JAI Press, 1987).
