Abstract

In 2003, the leaders of several advocacy groups for scientist-engineers decided the situation was desperate. They appealed directly to President Roh Moo-hyun for assistance. The advocates represented the Korean Society for Engineering Education, the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies, the National Academy of Engineering of Korea, the Korean Council of Deans of Engineering, the Korean Academy of Science and Technology, and the Scientists Association of National Research Institutes.
