Abstract

Sustainable development of agriculture and food security of the country is closely related to an increase in the number of farm animals. In this regard, the most promising is cattle, from which both milk and meat are obtained. Milk production is directly related to animal reproduction. To speed up the selection process for obtaining highly productive animals with improved reproductive capacity allows the use of genetic technologies. The article presents the results of the analysis of the data of literary sources on the influence of fourteen genes polymorphism on the reproductive ability of cows of different breeds. A significant influence of genes polymorphism on the age of the first insemination of heifers and the service period of cows was established. The early age of the first insemination had been observed in heifers having the genotypes GG in the TNF-α gene, CC in the TFAM gene, TT in the TG5 gene, AA in the DGAT1 gene. A shortened service period was in cows with the AA genotype in the CSN3 gene, TT in the GPX-1 gene, AA and GA in the PON1 gene, TT in the LEP gene, CT in the SCD1 gene, CC in the IGF-1 gene, and TC in the TG5 gene. The early age of the first insemination and shortened service period was associated with the presence in cows of the genotype AB in the PIT-1 gene. Research results can be applied in the selection and breeding work with cattle to improve the reproductive capacity of dairy cows.
