Abstract

In this next chapter we will be dealing with problems of the soft tissue coverage over breast implants. We are all aware that the majority of aesthetic results after breast augmentation are related to the autologous soft tissue cover, more than to the implant itself. Obviously the relationship between the size and weight of the breast implant compared to the quality and thickness of the soft tissue cover will determine the number of complications and the number of years that the results will stay aesthetically pleasing. The smaller the implant and the thicker the cover, the more natural results will be obtained and the more stable the results will be overtime. Many of the solutions discussed in this chapter will deal about how to improve the relationship soft tissue cover versus implant size.
