Abstract
Atrial septal defects (ASD) are one of the most commonly encountered congenital heart defects in adults. Prevalence of ASDs is 1.64 per 1000 live births accounting for 13% of all congenital heart diseases. These defects require careful monitoring along with non-invasive assessment of severity of left-right shunting. In this chapter, we highlight the adjunctive role of CT and MRI in the assessment of the atria and atrial septum.
