Abstract

The importance of democratic education in the era of “Fake News” cannot be overstated. How might one model of teaching help our students to “Think Like A Gambler, Not Like a Fan?” The importance of teaching students how to think critically to find truth and not simply to defend pre-determined positions is central. In the push to reach the highest levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy, we’ve passed over some of the foundational lynchpins of true learning. In this piece, I tell why and how to change what we see in our students.
