Abstract
Nutritional anemia is a world wide problem, with its highest prevalence in tropical countries. Several studies have revealed the high incidence of nutritional anemia among different countries all over the world1–27. Iron deficiency is by far the leading cause of nutritional anemia in all groups. In Thailand the prevalence is high among the whole population, and especially among children and pregnant women.
