Abstract
This is a good time to look back on the life and accomplishments of H. C. Brown. He is, formally, retired but his mind is as quick, tenacious and inventive as ever and the passage of years, each leaving it residue of experience, has served only to consolidate his skills in research. We expect him to be productive for many years and can look to the past for clues to the future.
