Abstract

This chapter contains an example Dylan program of moderate size. The aim is to present a Dylan program which exploits a number of features of the language so that the reader can derive an overall impression of it. Dylan is an object-oriented language, so classes are thoroughly exploited and methods attached to classes as a matter of course; one generic method is explicitly declared. The focus of the example is on object-oriented programming; the other types and primitives are considered to be relatively straightforward and should be appreciated by the reader after consultation of the language reference manual.
