Abstract
Lean Production is a term used initially in the late 1980s by John Krafcik, a researcher for the International Motor Vehicle Program (IMVP) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The term is used to describe the production methods involved in world class manufacturing as typified in the Toyota Company of Japan.
