Design and automation of a modern reverberatory heat-treatment furnace

This article examines aspects of the design and automation of modern metallurgical furnaces by using a reverberatory furnace for heat-treating tubular semifinished products as an example. The article describes the structure of the furnace control system and automation equipment (controllers, PID-regulators), as well as a system designed for remote monitoring and control of the furnace’s operation.
