Abstract
The Optima XL-I analytical ultracentrifuge with integrated Rayleigh interference and ultra-violet/ visible optics, and how it provides a modern, convenient platform for acquiring hydrodynamic data, is described. With a choice of optical systems that can be used either alone or in combination, together with an easy to use software control interface, its usefulness in simplifying the analysis of interacting molecular systems and description of particle size distributions is indicated.
