Conclusions

A method is devised for calculating the duration of the transport cycle on the basis of dynamic reproduction of the motion of motor dump trucks on a computer; it enables us to model the motion of a motor truck with allowance for the actual conditions of exploitation in the quarry and to obtain results which are numerically equivalent to the experimental ones.

The proposed method of calculating and planning the indices of operation of quarry motor transportation on the basis of optimization of the modes of motion of high-capacity trucks with hydraulic or electromechanical transmission makes it possible to refine the existing method of calculation, and to reduce the labor and time required to solve multivariant problems in the planning of motor transportation in an open-cut mine or quarry.

The method can be used for the following purposes: a) to compare the operational qualities of motor trucks with different parameters in quarries of the deep or hillside types; b) to find the technically and economically viable range of application of motor vehicles of various powers and load capacities in open-cut mine workings; c) to plan the working forces of motor dump trucks and to normalize the indices of operation of the dumping-transportation complexes in quarries with given volumes of workings with known technological schemes of transportation of rock, of parameters of the loading equipment, of physicomechanical properties of the rock, and of the indices characterizing the mining-technical and road-transport conditions of exploitation of the motor transport.
