Summary
A method for screening copper and lead in urine is described. The heavy metals are extracted from urine using a chelating ion exchange resin, and subsequently separated by paper chromatography. By comparing the colour intensities of the metal dithizonates developed from the standards and the samples, a semiquantitative measurement can be made.
Zusammenfassung
Bin Verfahren zur Abschätzung des Kupfer- und Bleigehaltes im Harn wurde beschrieben. Die Schwermetalle werden mit Hilfe eines komplexierenden Ionenaustauscherharzes aus dem Harn extrahiert und dann papierchromatographisch getrennt. Durch Vergleich der Farbintensitäten der aus Standard und Proben entwickelten Metalldithizonate ist eine halbquantitative Messung möglich.
