Introduction to Retina
Vision is the main method for people obtaining information from the outside world. Unfortunately, it has been estimated that there are about 250 million blind patients in the world, and the number is increasing year by year. Researchers have tried many ways to address the causes of blindness. Electrical stimulation has been proposed as a means to restore some sight for blind patients. The idea behind this is similar to what has been done in cochlear implants, where electrical stimulation of hair cells in the inner ear has been used to successfully restore the hearing for the deaf people [1].
