Abstract

If the oil is evaporated under pressure, a part of the heat which is applied to it will be available as kinetic energy if, for instance, the vapour is forced to issue from a small aperture, and consequently this type of burner will be able to entrain air for combustion without the assistance of natural or forced draught. Moreover, if suitable sets of cones are used, a thorough mixing and perfect, though somewhat noisy combustion may easily be obtained with this kind of burner.
