Abstract
Let V and W be vector spaces over a field F. A function α: V → W is called a linear transformation or homomorphism if and only if for all υ,υ’ ∈ V and all c ∈ F the following conditions are satisfied:

α(υ + υ’) = α(υ) + α(υ’);

(2)
α(cυ) = cα(υ).
