Abstract

Compared to the coastal towns, Nairobi has existed but for a brief moment yet already it is one of the most important cities on the continent. To most visitors Nairobi is a surprise, a busy metropolis full of sophisticated shops, first class hotels and soaring new buildings, set down in the heart of Africa. It is also a delight, a city of flowers, with bougainvillaea, golden shower, oleanders and many others blooming everywhere.
