Abstract
The hypophysiotropic hormones, i.e. thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH), gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH), growth hormone-releasing and inhibiting hormones (GHRH and somatostatin) produced in the neurosecretory cells of the hypothalamus exert their main function as regulators of the anterior pituitary [1].
