Abstract

This paper describes the analysis by the finite element method, which shows the correlation between the J-integral (J) and crack tip opening displacement (CTOD). The result is that the non-dimensional J-integral ~ non-dimensional CTOD relation seems to be expressed by a single curve for various metals. This is very effective for the J IC evaluation by the stretched zone size.
