Abstract
We know that alcoholism has plagued employers since the dawning of the industrial revolution. It’s even a safe bet that addiction frustrated the general contractor who put up the Parthenon. Over the centuries, employers have watched helplessly as skilled and valued employees gradually degenerated until termination was unavoidable. There was no remedy. Threats, discipline, promises were all useless.
