Abstract

Sports associations and sports clubs develop many strategies aimed at improving the athlete’s health and reducing injuries. Associations have a global vision and provide advice, while clubs are responsible for implementing the strategies. Both entities shall seek support of qualified and skilled staff and use existing state-of-the-art technologies. Continuous training and refresh courses for the technical teams are key factors. Communication between the different technical departments is also vital to ensure compliance with the implemented guidelines. These guidelines may range from appropriately designing facilities and sport materials, to implementing all existing preventive and rehabilitation strategies to assist athletes and reduce sport-related injury rates, and abiding by the rules.
