Zusammenfassung

Mund- und Rachentherapeutika werden zur Behandlung von Infektionen und schmerzhaften Schleimhautaffektionen des Mund- und Rachenraumes eingesetzt. In der Regel werden diese Infektionen durch Viren ausgelöst, so dass der Einsatz antiseptisch oder lokal antibiotisch wirkender Präparate nicht angezeigt ist. Bei der Behandlung der weit überwiegenden Zahl selbstlimitierender Infektionen in Mund und Rachen stehen daher Maßnahmen zur Linderung der Symptomatik im Vordergrund.
