Abstract

Increasing market requirements regarding the lifetime expectation and reliability of combustion engines will lead to a part-replacement of passenger car engines in commercial applications.

Because of this market segment’s cost sensitivity, there is the need for engines that will fulfil the requirements of being both highly reliable and durable, as well as cost efficient.
