Zusammenfassung
Durch den wachsenden wirtschaftlichen und finanziellen Druck beschäftigen sich immer mehr Krankenhäuser mit dem Thema „Simulation“, um strategische Planungsentscheidungen zu treffen. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist der Frage nachzugehen, wie Simulationen durchzuführen sind, was mit Simulationen erreicht werden kann, wie detailliert diese sein müssen und welche Einsatzfelder bestehen, um vernetzte Strukturen, Prozesse und Ressourcen in Krankenhäusern zu analysieren. Gegenstand der Betrachtung ist die Anwendung der Simulation durch Entscheidungsträger, um praxisorientierte und aussagekräftige Handlungsoptionen im Krankenhaus zu entwickeln die zur Produktivitätssteigerung beitragen. Ferner werden Grenzen und Risiken bei der Anwendung der Simulation aufgezeigt. Damit besteht die Möglichkeit, Entscheidungsträger noch vor Beginn einer Simulationsstudie ganzheitlich über potenzielle Einsatzmöglichkeiten zu informieren.
