Abstract
The University of Illinois Institute for Environmental Studies has been examining environmental pollution by lead and other metals in a coordinated interdisciplinary study since 1970. The major efforts in the study have been by biologists, agronomists, chemists, ecologists, etc., who have reached many specific, useful conclusions concerning the distribution, movement and effects of lead in the environment. (Metals Task Force, 1974a and 1974b; Miller, et al., 1974; and references cited therein.)
