Summary
The results of a set of experiments designed in order to investigate the basic immunological status in a group of uveitic patients showed that anterior recurrent uveitis develops often on a background different from focal posterior uveitis.
This background is not typical for autoimmune diseases, but is consistent with the possibility of a viral etiology.
Zusammenfassung
Die Ergebnisse einer Reihe von Experimenten, die dazu angelegt waren, den immunologischen Status einer Gruppe von Uveitispatienten zu untersuchen, zeigten Unterschiede zwischen der rekurrierenden Uveitis anterior und der fokalen Uveitis posterior. Diese Befunde sind nicht typisch für eine Autoimmunerkrankung, sondern weisen auf eine virale Ätiologie hin.
