Abstract

That the renin-angiotensin system is involved in the pathogenesis of clinical hypertension, at least in some cases, is suggested particularly by studies of the type illustrated in Fig. 1. The data shown in this Figure were obtained during the investigation of an 8 year old girl whose severe hypertension was cured by the excision of a renin-secreting tumour from the left kidney.
