Zusammenfassung

Bei der Behandlung der respiratorischen Insuffizienz muß sorgfältig zwischen zwei verschiedenen Störungen unterschieden werden: Lungengewebsveränderungen, welche eine Gasaustauschstörung verursachen (Lungenversagen), oder eine ventilatorische Insuffizienz („Pumpversagen“).
