Abstract

Distinguished are:

  1. 1.

    Primary changes — the disorder affects repolarization only.

  2. 2.

    Secondary — repolarization is changed because depolarization is already abnormal. In an interventricular conduction disorder with a prolonged QRS complex (in bundle branch block and ventricular extrasystoles), an alternative path of repolarization corresponds to the abnormal path of depolarization.
