Aspects in User Interface Design for Mobile Multi-User Applications

Abstract

Based on availability of advanced communication systems future applications will increasingly feature aspects such as distribution, cooperation, mobility, media-integration, and internationalization. We present a discussion of these aspects with respect to human-computer interaction and argue, that they can not be fully encapsulated but have to be supported in user interface development. It is pointed out, that present user interface development is not effective in the presence of many different application aspects, as it lacks integration of tools and methods. Finally, an approach for user interface development based on the notion of UI aspects in a tuplespace-based framework is presented.
