Abstract

Reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) has a strong correlation with histopathology; therefore, the peculiar characteristics of the skin in special sites are also evident in RCM images [Huzaira et al. (2001) J Invest Dermatol 116(6):846–852; González et al. (2008) Reflectance confocal microscopy of cutaneous tumors: an atlas with clinical, dermoscopic and histological correlations; Robertson and Rees (2010) Acta Derm Venereol 90(4):368–373].
