Abstract

This chapter reviews the various approaches that may be used to perform anatomic pulmonary lobectomy, including thoracotomy and video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS). The specific steps of each type of lobectomy are demonstrated, from both thoracotomy and VATS perspectives. Extended resections, including chest wall, bronchial, and vascular sleeve resections, are covered elsewhere.
