Abstract
Right from the start, the history of civil aviation has always faced challenges becauseof its very considerable dependence on external conditions over which it haslittle influence. The industry is particularly susceptible to strong political influenceand to cross-influence from other economic sectors, whether in terms of theframework conditions associated with individual airports, or in terms of the increasein fuel prices, an increase that is partially driven by speculation.
