Abstract
The use of services-oriented computing by enterprises has increased noticeably, with the aim of speeding up application processes and in response to changing e-business needs. This paper addresses the efficient processing of e-business real-time transaction services using the emerging web services technology and considers a services-oriented computing environment in which multiple service providers provide identical real-time transaction services. An efficient mechanism called the sensorial value-planned mechanism for web services (SVM-WS) is proposed for differentially treating e-business real-time transaction services according to their importance, such as inquiry and purchase requests. The results of a performance evaluation of an experimental setup for a web services e-business system demonstrate the feasibility of the scheme.
