Abstract

Currently, there is a growing interest in aquatic environments, owing to recreational and professional activities. This can bring about nasty encounters between animals and humans, who are not prepared to prevent traumas and envenoming caused by the natural defenses of the aquatic fauna. The main victims of these injuries are swimmers, professional and sporting fishermen, surfers, and scuba divers.
