Abstract

Create products with accessibility is a way of reaching a greater number of users and especially encourage the inclusion of users who have some disability, something increasingly important. This was the prerogative for the process of creating an application: to enable users with some vocal, auditory and mainly visual limitations to have an experience similar to that of ordinary users. In this article, we present the process of creating a new version of an application that had no accessibility at all.

    ContentDescription is a feature available in the Android programming language that labels each interactive element. These labels allow screen readers, such as TalkBack, to adequately explain the meaning and purpose of each element (static, dynamic, or graphic) for users with disabilities who depend on this service.

    Text to speech, abbreviated as TTS, is a way to convert text into voice output. It is provided by systems developed to assist the visually impaired by offering a synthetically generated spoken voice.

    Beacon is a small radio transmitter that uses Bluetooth technology to transmit its identifier in nearby portable electronic devices and can be used to perform actions.

  4. 4.

    Match Constraints: The display of each element expands as much as possible respecting the boundaries of the screen, including the margins.

    Weighted: concept of element measures based on weight definitions for each item that composes the layout.
