Abstract

Osteoporotic spinal fractures are extremely common causing pain, decreased quality of life, and decreased functional capacity. These fractures can be disabling and cause a rapid decrease in quality of life as well as hasten additional medical problems related to inactivity for those affected. Vertebral augmentation is a minimally invasive technique to reduce pain and improve functioning for those who suffer from these fractures.
