Abstract
The (e,2e) reaction has been used for many years as a probe of target electronic structure of atoms and molecules 1. The notation (e,2e) refers to a process in which ari incident electron (energy E o, momentum p o) knocks out a target electron, with subsequent detection of both outgoing electrons in time coincidence. After detection of the (e,2e) event, the energies (E f and E s ) and momenta (p f and p s ) of both outgoing electrons are determined. Here indices f and s specify the faster and the slower of the two outgoing electrons, respectively.
