Abstract
This paper presents a bird’s eye view on the hot topic of present day in telecommunications viz., Wireless in Local Loop. After laying down the description of WILL and stating its advantages and disadvantages, it goes on to discuss the details of different types of architecture. In brief it also presents the different standards in Europe, Japan and USA where all the development work has been done so far. The paper further dwells upon a few products relating to each standard and finally ends with a brief discussion on the air interface multiple accessschemes. Mention or description of certain products in this paper should not, in any way, be construed by the reader as a recommendation for the product. These have been taken only as examples.
