Abstract
The last of our major points of public misunderstanding is the widespread impression that solar electricity will soon be available, so there is no reason to get involved with nuclear power. There are vociferous political organizations pushing this viewpoint, and the media give it powerful support. The public seems to be largely convinced that our primary source of electricity in the next century will be solar.
