Abstract

Only in comparatively recent times, say within the last ten years, has energy policy emerged clearly as an issue of major economic, and now strategic, importance in the future well-being of nations. Naturally with this new found recognition, coupled with the broad interdisciplinary nature of the subject, a large and diffuse literature has been produced in a relatively short time.
