Dementia in Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body Disease

Abstract

Dementia occurs in Parkinson’s disease more commonly than in the general population. It is claimed that cortical and subcortical dementia syndromes can be commonly recognized, and that a variety of pathological lesions are responsible. Some persons presenting with dementia but no Parkinsonism also have the same basic pathological lesions seen in Parkinson’s disease.
